A graduate of University of Tokyo, I started my career as ophthalmologist in his alma mater. I had also majored in the neuroscience and molecular biology in the postgraduate course, which enables my capable of researching from both basic and clinical perspective. I have done research in Glaucoma Center of the University of California San Diego and lectured at University of Tokyo after he returned. I am currently the head of glaucoma division and Professor and Chair of Department of Ophthalmology, University of Tokyo, and Invited Professor of Tokyo Medical Dental University. My research interest is mechanism of IOP regulation, glaucoma animal model, lipid mediators, and developing glaucoma drugs and new surgeries.
